Used eyewear collected for a great cause in Rochester Hills, Michigan

"SIGHT NIGHT” PLACES FOCUS ON GIVING THIS HALLOWEEN
Brewster Elementary Kids to Trick-or-Treat for Used Eyeglasses

Brewster Elementary School kids in collaboration with Oakland Optometry will collect more than candy on Halloween. They’ll help give the gift of sight by gathering used eyeglasses while they trick-or-treat in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
The Brewster Elementary Community Service Kids, a club for fourth and fifth graders who participate in community service projects, will participate in Sight Night on Thursday, October 22, 2015.  The used eyeglasses they collect will be recycled and delivered by Oakland Optometry in partnership with VSP Global Vision Care to people in developing countries who can’t afford eyeglasses.
Sight Night is an eyewear donation program to help people see worldwide.  The gently used eyewear is cleaned, refurbished, labeled and sent with optometrists on global eye care missions.  This effort helps with the more than one billion people around the world needing eyeglasses.
Look for your used eyeglasses and sunglasses in every nook and cranny of your home or place of work.  Brewster Community Service Kid volunteers may come to your door looking for all types of prescription and non-prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. Children’s glasses are especially in need, as they are in high demand but in short supply. Whether they are big or small, fashionably ‘in’ or ‘out,’ your glasses could change how someone in a developing country sees the world!

If the “ghouls and boys” don’t make it to your house on Sight Night, have no fear. Used eyeglasses for the program can be dropped off in Rochester Hills with Dr. Mark J. Roy, Oakland Optometry, 4970 N. Adams Road on the NW corner of Silverbell and Adams. 248.373.6500.
